Process Art Abstract Piece/Mixed Media
WHAT IS PROCESS ART VERSUS PRODUCT ART?
OUR CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT FOCUSES ON THE PROCESS OF ART MAKING VERSUS WHAT THE FINISHED PRODUCT IS. WE HOPE THAT THROUGH OUT THE PROCESS CHILDREN WILL CREATE, EXPRESS AND FORM EXPERIENCES THAT INSPIRE CREATIVITY WITHIN THEM. THERE IS TRULY NO NEED FOR US TO INTERFERE WITH A CHILD’S INDIVIDUAL CREATIVITY; THIS IS WHY WE PLACE ITEMS OUT WITH INTENTIONALITY WITH PURPOSE AND THEN ALLOW EACH CHILD TO DEVELOP THEIR OWN IDEAS AND CONCEPTS. FURTHERMORE ALLOWING EACH CHILD TO CREATE AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES.

THIS PIECE WAS A BLACK AND GREY PROVOCATION. A PICTURE OF ART WORK WAS PLACED OUT TO INSPIRE EACH CHILD, THIS IS DONE INTENTIONALLY KNOWING THAT EACH CHILD’S PERCEPTION IS DIFFERENT.
SCAFFOLDING
We scaffold during the process, and cue the picture, facilitating language that will further develop thoughts.
